Tonkin had not been at the Toy Fair before and their stand was set up by the recently-formed Tonkin Replicas Europe. A number of the previously announced Caterpillar models were on display although some such as the MH 3049 were not on display as they were awaiting approval from Caterpillar. A Caterpillar mining dump truck was on display 'under wraps' but the brochures on the stand confirmed it is the MT4400D AC mining truck.
The new Kobelco crawler crane was on display in three colours and will be available first in US yellow at Conexpo in March. More crane models are expected in future from Kobelco and probably Link-Belt. The new arrangement with Tekno was demonstrated with new Tekno tractors on display, and a prototype of the first model under the Nooteboom license was also at the show.
