The Liebherr T55-7s is one of a line of Telehandlers announced by Liebherr in 2017.  The real machine was not launched at the time of this model review.

Following Liebherr's numbering system, the machine can be expected to have a capacity of 5.5 tonnes, a boom length of 7m and the 's' denotes it is a high performance version.

Packaging

The model comes in a Liebherr-branded box with the model packed within foam rubber.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

There is no information about the real machine or model. Assembly is limited to fixing two mirrors.

Detail

Detailing is fairy simple underneath, with the rear axle modelled.  Three large screw heads are visible.  The tyres are nice and they are mounted on plastic wheels with plastic wheel arches.

Textured steps lead to the cab, and it has a silvered mirror, plastic guard, beacon light and work light.  Interior detail is good.

At the back the light stalks are plastic as is the towing hitch, and there is a maximum speed sign.

The engine cover has the grilles formed by graphics and there is a plastic exhaust.

The boom is simple with metal parts.

Two tools are provided; a simple shovel and a pair of forks, and both are metal parts.

Features

The wheels roll independently without being free-rolling.  Both axles have very good independent steering and all the steering modes of the real machine can be replicated.  The rear axle oscillates.

The boom raises to a good angle and the ram that controls it is suitably stiff.  The telescopic section pulls out and it was very stiff on the review model.  At the end of the boom the quick coupler tilts with a very good range of movement.

The tools are easily removable by pressing together the two sides if the connector.

Quality

This is another solid and robust small model with a high metal content.

The paintwork and graphics are very good.

Price

The model is moderate value.

Overall

This model has made an early appearance, even beating the release of the real machine.  It is a nice model and it will be interesting to see if it is released in
Claas colours for the agricultural market, to reflect the corporate tie-up between Liebherr and Claas on these machines.

Footnotes

The model first appeared at the end of 2017.
