This review is of a Drake Steerable Low Loader Accessories Kit which coverts a 7x8 trailer into a 12x8 trailer.
It is in the colours of the Australian company NHH (National Heavy Haulage).
Packaging
The kit comes in a presentation quality Drake-branded box. Inside, the kit is contained within high quality foam rubber.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review kit.
No instructions are provided as these are included with the 7x8 model.
Detail and Features
The set comprises a 3 line module, a 2 line module and a bridge section.
The modules have a metal structure and the wheel sets are metal too. Each of the wheel sets has working suspension with a significant range of movement, and they also have significant sideways oscillation. They are steerable. The linkage works, but it is delicate.
The modules and bridge can be widened by pulling the sides apart.
Quality and Price
This kit maintains the high quality of the base 7x8 trailer. It provides a significant extension to the low loader length, but is a little pricey compared to the 7x8 trailer.
Overall
A very impressive low loader results from adding this kit to form a 12x8 trailer.
