The Bomag BW 206 AD Tandem Roller is a heavy articulated steered tandem roller with two vibratory drums. It is designed for medium to large projects and has an operating weight of 14 - 16 tonnes.
Packaging
It comes in a Bomag branded box in which the model is held within two interlocking plastic formers.
There were no defects or missing parts on the model.
The box has photos of the real machine on the end flaps, but there is no information it.
The model is complete out of the box with no assembly to do.
Detail
Underneath, there is no detailing. The roller drums appear to be metal and have nice smooth surfaces. Each has soft plastic scrapers. The support frames have bolt head details and hydraulic hoses.
The rear section has a textured solid grille and painted lights at the rear.
The pivot point has two steering rams but there are no hydraulic hoses crossing.
The cab has textured steps leading up, and the cab itself is very good. The interior has a detailed console. Outside, the cab has a delicate windscreen wipers and nice thin metal grab rails.
At the front the mirrors are plastic, and the Bomag logo is nicely rendered.
Features
The drums roll fairly freely.
Steering is achieved across the pivot point and the angle is good.
Quality
This is a very good quality model with a high metal content.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
It is very good value.
Overall
This is a nicely made model and it an affordable for what is offered.
