Jungheinrich is a long-established German company which is a leader in material handling equipment and warehousing logistic solutions.
The EKS 110 is designed for use in warehouses where it picks orders from industrial racking. It is an electric machine with a maximum load of 1 tonne. The machine typically weighs under two tonnes.
Packaging
The model comes in a Jungheinrich branded box and is enclosed between expanded polystyrene trays. The box has the NZG model number of 578, reflecting the first run of the model and the scale is incorrectly marked as 1:50 instead of 1:25.
The review model had no missing parts or defects.
Detail
On the underside there is little detail other than the three roller wheels.
The curved body shape is a nice casting with a panel handle on one side, small grilles and the graphics are crisp and clear.
The platform has a non-slip texture and the controls and instrument panel are nicely modelled.
The forks are metal.
A plastic pallet is included which is textured to represent wood.
Features
The rollers rotate smoothly, but there is no steering.
The platform can be raised and lowered.
The forks can be raised and lowered.
Quality
It is entirely metal with the pallet being the only plastic part.
The paint and graphics are very good.
Price
It is fair value given the weight of metal.
Overall
This is a simple well-made model. Although it has a changed number compared to the first run of the model (#578) it is not clear that there are any changes.
