This is a re-issue of an old model and it appears to be
in yellow similar to RAL 007.
Packaging
The model comes in a windowed box in a Nooteboom style,
with the parts held in place in expanded polystyrene trays
with see through formers.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
There are no instructions supplied
for the model, and no information about the real
trailer. Some spare parts are also included for the
delicate rear lights and marker boards.
Detail
The gooseneck has a couple of spare wheels
and it has a nice diamond
plated surface. On one side there is a control console
for operating the gooseneck and a pair of plastic marker
boards fix to either side. Underneath a couple
of hydraulic cylinders replicate the mechanism of the original.
The bed itself consists of a structural frame which has
casting details on the outside which imitate the
chaining down points although they are not useable. At
the front the frame has 'noses' for loading wheeled or
tracked plant. Within the bed are wheel wells with
metal removable infills.
At the rear the axle unit has
an excellent textured surface into which posts and marker
boards fit. Two beacon lights complete the back
of the trailer which also has metal mud flaps which bear
the Nooteboom name. The detail of the axle assemblies
is good with authentic
looking suspension components.
Features
The
wheels roll well and the linked parallel steering has
very good movement. Each of the axles is height
adjustable.
The angle of the gooseneck can be adjusted and the rams
holding it are stiff.
The axle module can be separated from the deck by
removing a pin.
The infills for the wheel wells can be removed to
provide realistic loading.
The bed unhooks from the gooseneck so that realistic
loading sequences can be posed.
Deck posts can be inserted on the module.
Metal width extensions can be added to the side of the
deck and these are easy to fit.
Quality
The trailer has a very high metal content,
The paint and few graphics are also very good.
Price
The model is
moderate value.
Overall
Although this trailer is an old casting it still has a
quality feel with most parts all made in metal. The
detail level is not the highest but for some the
robustness of the model will be preferred.
Footnotes
The trailer first appeared in a model set in 2007.
