| Eurovia branded box. | | | Open slated grille at the rear. | | Very good cab detailing. | | Very detailed engine, but the cover will not pose open like this without cheating. | | Compacting the black stuff....which seems to be grey. | | Very good as part of a Eurovia diorama. |
| Comment on this model.
Hamm is part of the Wirtgen Group of companies. The Hamm H 13i is a smooth drum vibratory compactor with an operating weight of around 13 tonnes.
This model is in the colours of Eurovia, a contracting company within the VINCI Group.
Packaging
It comes in a Eurovia branded box in which the model is held within two expanded polystyrene trays, and wrapped in soft paper.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.
There is no information about the real compactor and the model is complete out of the box with no assembly to do.
Detail
Underneath, the detail is simple with the steering hydraulic rams visible. The metal rear wheels have nice rubber treaded tyres.
The body casting has see-through grilles at the rear together with an exhaust pipe. The rear light detailing is good too, and the engine under the hood is very detailed with various coloured components.
The cab is excellent as it has a console with tiny legible graphics and unusually the ceiling is modelled too. A fire extinguisher adds to the authentic look. Silvered steps lead to the cab and there is a fuel filler pipe and wheel chocks. Lights and mirror supports are plastic.
Hydraulic lines run to the drum which also has scrapers on both sides. The drum has a smooth metal finish, and the frame is well detailed and looks good.
Features
The rubber tyres roll nicely and the drum turns smoothly.
The pivoted steering works well achieving an angle approaching 40º.
The engine hood opens to a wide angle although on the review model the hinge was not stiff enough to maintain an open pose.
Quality
It is well up to NZG's usual quality standards with a sparing use of plastic.
The paintwork and the Eurovia graphics are very sharp.
Price
It is good value for the quality offered.
Overall
This is a good quality Hamm roller model and it looks good in Eurovia colours so it poses well with similarly branded models.
Footnotes
The model in Hamm colours first appeared for the BAUMA 2013 exhibition. This version appeared in August 2014 in an exclusive run of 300 models for the VINCI shop.
