This is a model of a Volvo FH4 tractor with a Broshuis 3-axle semi low loader.
The model is in the colours of the Swedish company Wiklunds Akeri.
Packaging
The model comes in a WSI Models branded box which has a window allowing the model to be seen.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.
There are quite a few parts supplied for the trailer, but no instructions.
Detail
The tractor is a Volvo FH4 6x2 unit and it has excellent paintwork and graphics.
The chassis is very detailed as usual for WSI, with the suspension and transmission modelled. The wheels are particularly smart, and there are different tyre tread patterns on the driven axles, and they have the Bridgestone tyre designation printed on the sidewalls.
At the front the cab has very good detailing, and the lights have either lenses. The mirrors are colour-coded and there are beacon lights on the roof together with a nice basket and a sign board which has a couple of tiny Michelin men on either side.
An authentic number plate is used. Behind the cab, there are coiled lines, and very nice exhaust pipes. Plastic wheel arches cover the rear wheels and the rear lights have individual plastic lenses.
The trailer is highly detailed. Underneath, the structure of the trailer is modelled well, with the axles having the suspension fully represented, and there are hoses running to each wheel. At the front there are a couple of landing legs. Rear legs for the loading ramps are modelled but are not functional.
The surface of the trailer is very good with the screw holes modelled in the replica timber deck. Details along the edges of the trailer include a yellow stripe. On one side there is a control console box.
At the rear the lights are good and there is a number plate.
The gooseneck has a tool box. Sides for a storage box are metal, and they have nice graphics.
A separate pack of metal deck posts is provided and also a support beam. The trailer width can be extended with boards and there are also parts for securing a container.
A pair of width markers attaches at the rear end of the trailer if required, and a couple of pull-out ones are stowed under the gooseneck.
Plastic loading ramps are stored under the rear of the trailer, and ramps are also included for access to the gooseneck.
Features
The Volvo has a steerable axle with moderate movement. The model rolls well.
The cab tilts to reveal a Volvo engine.
The trailer has plenty of features. All the axles have effective working suspension with good movement, and the rear axle has self-steering and can adopt a reasonable angle.
At the front the landing legs can be screwed down, and the marker boards stowed under the gooseneck can be slid into position.
The trailer bed can be extended to almost double its length. For wider loads the trailer has a load floor width adjustment and this works with tiny extension beams which can be pulled out and then replica timber beams can be laid between them.
Other configuration options are provided by fitting or omitting the deck posts, and the same goes for the gooseneck storage. Locks for attaching shipping containers are also supplied, as is a transverse support beam.
Separate plastic loading ramps can be stored at the rear or can be placed to simulate loading. Loading plates for the gooseneck are also included.
Quality
This is a typically high quality model with a high metal content.
The paintwork and graphics are of a very high standard.
Price
The model is reasonable value as a limited edition.
Overall
Once again WSI has produced a very attractive truck model and this particular liver looks good. The many options for the trailer mean that plenty of interesting display poses can be set.
Footnotes
The model appeared in November 2016.
