The tractor is a
Scania 6x2 and the
trailer is a Nooteboom 3-axle Mega Trailer.
It is in the colours of
Nooteboom's Red Line range.
Packaging
The packaging is the usual WSI-branded
windowed box.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
There is no information about the real truck or model. A Nooteboom
Certificate of Origin is
included although the numbers for the tractor and
trailer on the card do not match those applied to the
model.
Detail
The Scania
6x2 chassis is highly detailed and the tyres have
different treads on the driven and steered axles. They are
mounted on detailed wheels with red highlighted hubs.
The
high cab roof has air horns and and nice lights with
lenses. The grille is excellent and is
enhanced by tiny badge graphics. The bumper has
chevron graphics and there is a number plate. On
the sides the Nooteboom model fleet number. The door handles are also really
nicely modelled.
Inside the cab, the
seats, controls and furniture are modelled. Under the cab is a detailed engine.
Behind the cab, the
back panel has nice shaping, and there are coiled lines. The wheel
arches are split. At the back, the lights have plastic
lenses and there is a number plate.
The trailer is assembled as one piece. It is very
detailed underneath and includes hoses and tanks and
wheel chocks. There are partially modelled boxes at the
mid point which would have been better with a solid
shape. At the rear is a box which looks like it is
for loading ramps. There are rear stabilisers for
rear end loading of plant, but they are not adjustable.
The
headboard has got some tiny graphics applied and there
are more tiny graphics along the deck edges. There
is also a yellow stripe. The detailing at the back is also
excellent. The is a mix of plastic replica
timbers, diamond plated surfaces and metal structure.
Tiny plastic extension beams for supporting timber edge
extensions are modelled, and there were no replica timbers included
with the review model. Metal deck posts are included
together with eight container locks.
Features
The Scania's
steering has a moderate range of movement, and the model
rolls very well.
Marker boards under the front and rear of the
trailer can be extended or
retracted.
The axles have
linked steering which is a little soft and they also have sprung suspension.
The front landing legs can be lowered by unscrewing.
The deck is extendible and telescopes out to a long
length.
The deck can be configured with deck posts
and container locks.
Quality
This model is very high quality.
The paintwork and graphics are to a
very high standard.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
This is a really nice model of the Nooteboom Mega
Trailer. It is a combination of high detail and
functionality. No doubt many versions of the model
will appear in company colours also.
Footnotes
The model
first appeared at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February 2019,
and was available from April 2019.
