Detail
The Scania
8x4 chassis is highly detailed and the tyres have
different treads on the front and rear axles. They are
mounted on detailed wheels with very smart trims.
The cab has a light bar on the roof and nice lights with
lenses. The grille is excellent and is
enhanced by tiny badge graphics. The bumper has
chevron graphics and there is a number plate. On
the sides the Nooteboom model fleet number is included
which is T-048. The door handles are also really
nicely modelled.
Inside the cab, the
seats, controls and furniture are modelled. Under the cab is a detailed engine.
Behind the cab, the
equipment tower has small tanks on top, and cabinets and
tanks below, and there are coiled lines. The side
fairings have wind turbine graphics. The wheel
arches are detailed. At the back, the lights have plastic
lenses and there is a number plate.
The trailer is assembled as one piece, and ahs the
Nooteboom trailer series number OPL-050.
The gooseneck has fixed sides and there are two spare wheels
at the front. There are some excellent tiny
graphics on the control console on
the left side. The underneath of the gooseneck is
also very detailed with hoses and tanks.
The trailer is very detailed underneath and includes
hoses, tanks and wheel chocks. There are tiny graphics
along the deck edge and there is very nice highlighting
of the bolt heads on the access plates above the pendle
axles. The detailing at the back is also
excellent.
Tiny plastic extension beams for supporting timber edge
extensions are modelled, and the replica timbers are
included, and holes for deck posts are
provided. The metal posts are
included with the model also.
Features
The Scania's
steering has a moderate range of movement, and the model
rolls very well.
The cab tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in the
tilted position.
The gooseneck has working cylinders so different angles
can be set.
Marker boards under the gooseneck can be extended or
retracted.
The axles have very good proportional steering on axles
2 to 6, and axles 3 to 6 have sprung suspension.
Axles 1 and 2 can be raised out of service with a good
ground clearance.
The deck is extendible.
The deck can be configured with deck posts and extra
plastic timbers to extend the width.
Quality
This model is very high quality.
The paintwork and graphics are to a high standard.
Price
The model is reasonable value.
Overall
The Nooteboom Red Line series is a very collectible set,
and the colour scheme is beautiful. This is a high
quality model of the the latest Scania truck, and it is
matched by the quality of the trailer.

The model
first appeared at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February 2019,
and was available from April 2019.
