The XCMG XGS 30 Aerial Platform has a telescopic boom
with a nominal reach of 30m.
Packaging
The model comes in an XCMG branded box
and surprisingly the machine designation XGS 30 is not
mentioned. The model is
contained in a pair of expanded polystyrene trays. It
is wrapped with soft paper.
The review model had no missing parts or manufacturing
defects.
No instructions were included with the review model, and
no assembly is required.
Detail
The undercarriage is fairly simple, but the structural
parts are all metal. It appears that the wheels
for each axle are offset suggesting they are on
extendible beams, but this functionality is not
implemented on the model. A few graphics are applied and
there is a small tool box. The wheels are detailed
and the tyres have a decent tread pattern.
The
rounded body shape is modelled well and there are some
nice graphics. The XCMG name on the counterweight
is embossed, and the graphics for the control panel are
finely detailed.
The telescopic boom has three sections which are simple
but with sharp graphics. The boom lift ram has a
plastic jacket and there are no hydraulic hoses.
The basket is an all metal part, with the structure
modelled underneath. It has graphics applied, and
there is a lightly textured platform surface.
There is a space for a control pad to be fitted.
Features
The model rolls well, and
both axles have steering with a good range of movement.
The body
rotates smoothly.
The boom raises
with enough friction in the ram to hold any pose.
Extending the boom had some initial stickiness on the
review model, and each section locks at full extension.
The basket angle is adjustable to maintain a level
attitude, and it also rotates.
The model has reasonable stability with the boom fully
extended over the side, but extendible wheels would be
an improvement.
Quality
This model is relatively heavy and robust, with
a high metal content, and the quality level is very good overall.
The
paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
It is a decent value model based on the
price charged from China.
Overall
Yagao has produced a fairly simple but
robust aerial platform model, which is made to a nice
standard.
