This model is a
Nooteboom Redline Series MANOOVR 7-axle with 3-axle Multidolly
Trailer and a Mercedes-Benz Actros MP5 SLT Giga Space 8x4
Tractor.
Packaging
The model comes in high quality packaging which is
Nooteboom
branded. The model parts are held within black foam.
There were no missing parts
of damage on the review model.
There is a small booklet which has interesting
information about the real trailer, and it also
describes most of the features of the model.
There are a couple of bags of small parts to fit.
Detail
The
Actros has a detailed
8x4 chassis and the tyres are different on the steering
and driven axles.
The cab
detailing is excellent and the graphics include a scale
model fleet number.
Behind the cab the equipment
tower is detailed and there are coiled lines. The
wheel arches are realistic and there are license plates
front and rear.
The gooseneck is very detailed and the underside has a
detailed king pin turntable. The control console on the
side is very finely detailed and the anti slip surface
is convincing. Additional details include two spare
wheel holders and a generator.
The trailer is a three axle interdolly and a seven axle
Manoovr unit. The detailing underneath is very good
with metal wheel assemblies, and the wheels have
coloured centres.
The top surfaces have an excellent finish with
anti-slip texture. The
edges have a reflective yellow stripe and there tiny
graphics and highlighted tie-down loops. At the rear
the beacon lights and graphics give a realistic look.
Marker boards can be fitted as can metal deck posts and
a Convoi Exceptionnel signs.
Features
The Actros steering movement
is modest. The cab tilts but it
cannot maintain a tilted pose.
The gooseneck has an adjustable angle with the rams
controlling it being stiff. It has support legs which
can be pinned in the up or down positions, although care
is required as the pins are tiny and can drop out if the
model is tilted.
The Manoovr module has independent suspension
on five axles and there is very good proportional
steering. The front two axles can be raised out of
service.
It has an extendible beam which is smooth in operation.
The interdolly has one sprung axle line and two which
can be raised out of service. Axle steering is
parallel.
A variety of trailer configurations are possible either
with or without the interdolly, or with the beam
extended or not. Marker boards and deck posts can
be fitted.
Quality
This is a high quality model with a high metal content.
The red line paint finish is excellent, and the graphics are sharp.
Price
The price is reasonable value for a
large heavy haulage model.
Overall
The Manoovr models have been in development for
a long time but it has been worth the wait. This
is an excellent heavy haulage model.
Footnotes
The model was released in September 2024.
