This book is the fifth of the Classic Construction Series. Most of the series are published in German and English.
The book has a structured approach and runs through the history of models of construction equipment over a time span of a century. Separate chapters are given over to different time periods culminating in a chapter per decade leading up to the millennium. It provides some great history including 600 photos of various models. In fact although there is plenty of text, a greater proportion of the page space is given over to photos and this is the clear strength of the book and would be valued by a collector.
Overall the impression is that this is a well researched book with plenty to interest the collector of construction models. For this reason it is highly recommended. The only thing the book lacks is a contemporary update of the rapid improvement in technology, quality and range of models that has been seen in the last five years, and particularly the impact of high quality models from China.
