The Liebherr TL 435-13 Telehandler has a maximum lift height of 13m and a maximum lifting capacity of 3.5 tonnes with the maximum capacities being obtained when the front stabilisers are used. It is an all wheel drive machine with all axles steerable. When travelling on roads, generally only the front axle is used for steering and the maximum speed is around 25 km/h (15mph).
This is a 1:50 scale model made in China.
Packaging
The box is slightly unusual for Liebherr in that it has a window for viewing the model. In other respects it follows the typical Liebherr box design. Inside the box, the model is held between clear plastic formers. The review model was undamaged.
No instructions or other information is provided with the model.
Detail
Underneath, the model is fairly simple with the basic transmission elements visible and realistic looking steering linkages. The tyres have a good heavy rough terrain tread and are mounted on plastic hubs.
At the front the mudguards and light holders are plastic, but the front stabilisers are all of metal construction. The cab is nicely detailed with a mirror, windscreen wipers, aerial, orange beacon light and floodlights. Inside there is a patterned seat, and pedals and a joystick can be seen in addition to the steering wheel. At the rear, the light clusters are painted, there is a small warning sign and a non-functioning towing hitch.
The telescopic boom is three stage with the middle section being made of plastic, although the grey colour match is good so this hardly shows. The lowest section of boom has some hydraulic pipe work within the casting. At the boom head there is some plastic flexible hydraulic pipe work and a small warning sign.
The two accessories provided are a pair of plastic forks with pallet, and a plastic shovel. The pallet has realistic wood graining and it is just a pity that it is not a more realistic colour.
