The Vibromax 115 Roller.

The roller poses well with other related machines.  Here it is with the JCB 220 and the Komatsu 61EX.

The JCB VM115 is an 11 tonne vibratory single drum roller and is part of the JCB Vibromax range.  They are used in a wide range of compaction applications including cohesive soils, and road and airport works.  This model is 1:50 scale.

Packaging

The model is packed in a windowed box within clear plastic formers. There were no defects on the review model. 

No information is provided about the real machine which is a pity, however no instructions are needed as the model is complete out of the box.

Detail

Underneath the model the prop shaft on the driven axle is well detailed and the big rubber tyres have a good tread and are mounted on metal hubs which have distinct wheel nuts.

The roller is metal and the roller frame is detailed with hydraulic lines running to the drum.

The cab has good detail with windscreen wipers, mirrors and lights.  The interior detail is very good with the instrument panel being the high point.

At the rear, the engine cover is a nice casting and underneath there is a detailed engine.

Features

The model rolls smoothly and freely.  The roller has a working joint mechanism so it steers and it also has some tilt movement for uneven surfaces.

The engine cover opens to reveal the engine.

Both the casting and paintwork are of a high standard, and there is little use of plastic.

Price

The model is reasonable value.

Overall

This is a pleasing small model for anyone interested in this sector of construction machinery.  It is well made and looks good posed with other appropriate models.
