The Peterbilt Model 335 Mechanic Truck is typically used to provide servicing to other vehicles and equipment, and includes a hoist and other tools.
This model is made by TWH in China, and is 1:50 scale. The review version is in the colours of Manitowoc Crane Care.
Packaging
The model comes in a
Manitowoc branded
picture box which contains a pair of expanded polystyrene trays.
The model is well packed inside with polythene wrapping.
The review model was undamaged and there were no missing parts.
Unusually, there is no information about the real machine or the model included. There are some small parts which are provided in a separate bag. This includes mirrors which have to be fitted, and some cones, wheel chocks and a mechanic's creeper.
Detail
Starting underneath, the chassis has prop shaft and suspension details, and a silver exhaust, and there are thin hose lines running to the rear. The front and rear tyres have a differing tread pattern, and they are mounted on detailed metal hubs.
At the front there is a very finely etched grille, with tiny Peterbilt signs on the hood. The detail on the operator's cab is excellent, both inside and out. In addition to the usual details such as windscreen wipers and mirrors, there is very good rivet detailing, and the roof has a couple of very small aerials and a full width orange beacon bar. Inside, the driver's console has individually separate gauges and a fire extinguisher.
