The Cranes Etc website celebrated its 21st anniversary on 16 March 2025. When first published in 2004, the website design used small images and was largely text based because of the very low speed dial-up internet connections at the time. A screenshot from 2004 is shown right. Since it first appeared it has reviewed over 1600 scale models in the construction, heavy haulage, mining and related sectors. In addition, it has published reports on the Nuremberg Toy Fair and Bauma in Germany, ConExpo in the USA, Intermat in France, Ede in the Netherlands, and also reports on visits to China, and even India. A number of magazine articles have been published including over 17 years of regular articles for the trade magazine 'Cranes & Access'. It has the largest global reach in the sector. Model making companies have come and gone. OEM marketing and branding has changed. The quality and detail of models has generally improved, as has their presentation and packaging. Collector expectations have increased. Throughout the period Cranes Etc has been a constant in reviewing models and increasing their visibility and OEM and model maker brand awareness worldwide.
