The Volvo L60H is a wheel loader with an operating
weight of around 11 tonnes.
The model is configured with Michelin tyres.
Packaging
The model comes in a box with
a picture of the real machine. It has a front flap
which allows the model to be seen inside. The model
is held within expanded polystyrene trays and is
securely fixed to the base with screws.
There were
no missing parts or defects on the review model.
There is some technical information about the
real machine printed on the box. There is no
information about the model.
Detail
The underside has a detailed transmission and
axles which are modelled in plastic. The
wheels are detailed and the tyres are excellent, and
they have Michelin branding.
At the rear the counterweight has nice lights and small
graphics, and there is a towing hitch with pin.
The engine compartment has excellent mesh grilles at the
rear and sides. A fan can be seen through the rear
grille. The large plastic exhaust on top has a
realistic hole.
The wheel arches are plastic which probably mirrors the
real machine, and the rear ones have very nice
perforated stepping plates. The colour match of
the plastic parts is excellent. There is a fire
extinguisher on the front wheel arch. Plastic textured steps
lead up to the cab.
The cab is
very detailed inside. In addition to the seat and
control column there are rocker switches detailed on the
cab corner posts. The floor has a non-slip
texture. On the outside there are soft
plastic grab rails and mirrors.
The
loader mechanism has soft hydraulic hoses running to the
hydraulic rams. The connection pins are discrete
and painted.
The bucket is a nice casting with some wear plate
detailing and the Volvo name appearing at each end.
Features
The wheels roll well enough with each wheel
having its own bearing. The rear axle has a large
oscillation angle.
Steering across the pivot point is precise with a
reasonable angle.
The cab door opens widely.
The loader arm mechanism is very good and reaches a
decent height, and a significant cut angle. The
carry position with the bucket down is restricted.
The bucket is removable by using two spring-loaded
connection bolts.
Quality
The model has a high metal content with plastic used
appropriately.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
It is good value for the large size.
Overall
This is another impressive model from AT Collections in
1:32 scale. It is a really good combination of
detail and features.
Footnotes
The model first appeared as a prototype at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in
2018 and the first release occurred in April 2019.
