The Liebherr LRT series rough terrain cranes were launched at ConExpo in 2017.

The crane modelled here represents two versions having a maximum capacity of 90 or 100 tonnes.

The model comes in a Liebherr branded box sleeve which encloses expanded polystyrene trays.

The review model had no defects or missing parts.

There is an instruction sheet for the model which is pictorial and it has a list of parts.  The production version of the model also includes a key for tightening the boom ram, and this is not referenced in the instructions.

This is a heavy model.

Looking underneath, there is detailing of the carrier chassis with the drive transmission modelled in plastic.  The wheels look good and the large rough terrain tyres are impressive.

The carrier has various ladders and other parts detailed.  There is no natural attachment point for the hook blocks during transport, and a length of chain would have been a good inclusion.  The lights are painted.

The outriggers appear to be tough plastic and are single stage with an excellent colour match  They are simple with chevron graphics applied. The outrigger pistons are smooth when extended, and the replica timber pads are plastic.

The crane cab has a windscreen wiper and lights, and the grab rails are metal.  Inside, the detail is good with a large control console and joysticks visible.  The crane body and counterweight is relatively simple.

The large main boom ram has a plastic jacket but it has a very good finish so it does not look plastic.  The boom has detail on the lowest boom section including a plastic cable drum.  There are metal sheaves in the boom head.

The bi-fold swingaway jib is a very nice metal lattice casting with a plastic solid section which has an excellent colour match. All sheaves are metal.

The hook block has three sheaves and a single line hook is also included.

The axles steer and the range of movement is very good.  The rear axle has some oscillation.

The outriggers are fully functional with extending beams and pistons that screw down without any visible screw threads.  Plastic pads clip on securely.  The outriggers are strong enough to support the entire crane off its wheels.

The crane cab tilts and can hold any pose.

The boom is raised using the very large ram which has a locking mechanism which is tightened using a supplied key.  It works well when fully tightened and it will hold the boom as desired as long as it is tightened enough.

The telescopic sections extend smoothly and lock into place when full extension is reached.

The winch drums can only be turned by finger on the drum, and the brake is by means of friction rather than a positive lock.

The fly jib can be installed and run at half or full length.  It also has a ratchet for setting offset angles.

As would be expected Conrad has produced a strong model which is both heavy and robust.  Plastic is used appropriately and it does not show.

The paintwork is very good as are the few graphics.

It is a reasonably priced model given the weight.

Conrad has produce a really good model of the Liebherr LRT.  It is particularly functional and robust.

The model was introduced at the ConExpo Exhibition 2017.
