Comment on this model.
The Liebherr L 576 is a wheel loader with an operating
weight of around 24 tonnes. It has a bucket
capacity of 4.5m³ and a dump-over height of 3.9m.
This version is decorated in the colours of
Eurovia which is a subsidiary of the
VINCI Group.
Packaging
The model comes in a Conrad-branded box which is
surprising as some previous models came in Eurovia
packaging. Inside the model is protected within
foam rubber.
There were no missing parts on the review model
although there was a minor paint chip.
No instructions are provided and there is no information
about the real machine. Two door mirrors have to
be fitted and this is an easy task.
Detail
The transmission is modelled underneath with plastic
drive shafts. The large tyres have a good tread
pattern and are mounted on detailed wheels.
The stairs and handrails up to the cab are metal and
thin enough to look good, and there are textured
non-slip walking surfaces. The cab has window
seals, wipers as applied graphics, and metal grab rails
on top. Inside the detail is good with
identifiable controls.
The engine compartment has excellent see-through grilles
and interior shapes hint at the engine inside. At
the rear there are painted lights and sharp graphics.
At the front the plastic wheel arches have separate mud
flaps. The centre pivot point looks busy but there
are no hydraulic hoses anywhere on the model. The
Z-frame loader mechanism is modelled well and tiny
warning signs add detail.
The Eurovia graphics are applied well.
The bucket is a nice casting.
Features
The wheels roll well and the rear axle floats with a
good range of movement.
Steering at the centre pivot point has a nice level of
stiffness and achieves a realistic angle.
The loader mechanism is very good. It can hold any
pose and reaches a realistic height. The tipping
angle on the bucket is very good.
Quality
The model is typically robust and well made. The
paintwork is good and the graphics are applied well.
Price
The model is reasonable value for a limited edition.
Overall
It is always good to see a model in VINCI company
colours and this is a good quality model. It has some nice touches of
detailing, and it works well. It is highly
recommended.
Footnotes
This version of the L 576 appeared in the
VINCI web shop
in May 2013 as an exclusive edition of 300 models.
