Bucher has a very long history
stretching back to when it began as a blacksmith
business in Switzerland in 1807. It is a leading
manufacturer of municipal vehicles for cleaning
purposes.
The CityCat 5006 is a compact sweeper.
Packaging
The model comes in a plain Bucher branded
box. The model
is wrapped in foam rubber.
It had no defects or missing parts.
There is no information about the real machine and there are no instructions
for the model. The only assembly is to fit door mirrors and a roof
aerial.
Detail
Underneath there is detailing of the rear axle. The
sweeping gear is modelled well and includes real brushes. The tyres are the same front and rear and the
wheels are detailed. The rear lights are highlighted,
and there is a rigid rear mud flaps.
The cab is detailed although the windscreen wipers are
on the large side. The door handles are modelled.
Behind the cab the suction system is modelled.
The body has a textured roof and small sharp graphics.
The structure on the underside is modelled well.
Features
The steering works very well with both axles having a
very good range of
movement.
The moving sweeping brush rotates out and can move
transversely to sweep on the left or right. Each round channel brush rotates and can
be extended out.
The hopper tilts, and the rear door opens widely.
Quality
This is a surprisingly heavy small model. It is solidly made.
The paintwork is very good and the graphics are sharp.
Price
It is reasonably priced.
Overall
This is a pleasing small model. It has very good
functionality and a heavy, quality feel.
