On the road.

This Mercedes-Benz Arocs 8x4 chassis is fitted with a Meiller high capacity tipper body.

It is a generic model in an orange colour scheme.

Packaging

The model comes in a standard Conrad box, and the model is wrapped in foam rubber on a cardboard backing.

The review model had no defects or missing parts.

There is no information provided about the real vehicle or instructions for the model.  The only assembly required is to fit mirrors and roof aerials.

Detail

The 8x4 truck chassis is detailed with the transmission and rear axles made in plastic whilst the steering axle is modelled for functionality only.  The chassis structure is metal with numerous tanks and boxes.  The wheels look smart,  with wider tyres on the front axles.

The Mercedes-Benz Arocs cab looks good with an impressive grille.  There are no number plates as this is a generic model.

At the rear the lights are painted.

The tipper body is all metal and very robust, and the structure is nicely modelled.  The lift ram is multi-stage telescopic.  There are small Meiller graphics on the side and the tailgate.

Features

The front axles have steering which achieves a very good angle, although it is not linked. The two rear axles have a degree of up and down movement to represent suspension.

The tipper body end-tips conventionally and it achieves a good angle.  At the rear the tailgate opens widely but it is not free-swinging.

Quality

This is a strong well-made model with a reasonably high metal content.

The quality of the paintwork and graphics is very good.

Price

The model is reasonable value.

Overall

This is a nice version of a high sided tipper.  Although the decoration is plain, the model looks very good.
