The tractor is a
International HX520 Tandem Tractor,
and the trailer is a 53 foot Flat Bed.
The model is part of Diecast Master's Transport Series.
Packaging
The packaging consists of a cardboard outer shipping
carton which encloses a high quality drawer-style tray
within a picture sleeve.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
The box sleeve includes some information about the real
tractor. A Transport Series mini brochure is included.
Two types of exhaust pip extensions are included,
straight and bent, and an Oversize Load sign can be
fitted.
Detail
The
HX520 chassis has the engine, gearbox and
transmission detailed in plastic. The fuel tanks
are modelled in plastic and there are soft mud flaps. The plastic
wheels are detailed and the tyres are different on the steering
and driven axles.
The front grille is very good and there is a tiny
badge at the top. The lights are very good with nice
chrome work at the front, although there is no number
plate as this is a generic model.
The mirrors are plastic, and the steps are textured.
The chrome exhausts look realistic, and the filler caps
on the tanks are coloured.
There are no coiled
lines, and the
rear lights are painted.
Inside the cab the dashboard is highly detailed.
The flat bed trailer is almost
all metal chassis and is relatively heavy. The
axles are detailed with decent wheels and tyres, and
there are soft mud flaps at the back. The landing
legs are plastic. The rear
lights are painted.
The deck is painted to replicate timber and there are
red and white graphics down the edges. There are
tie down holders modelled on one side.
Features
The
tractor achieves a limited steering angle.
The hood tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in any
tilted position. The engine underneath is detailed
in a number of coloured components.
The trailer has fold-down landing legs.
Quality
This model is well made and is very good quality.
The paintwork and graphics are to a high standard.
Price
It is reasonable value.
Overall
This is a useful model of a US Flat Bed and can be used
to display parts of other models. As usual for
Diecast Masters, it is well presented.
