This truck is a International Lonestar Sleeper Cab  with Skeletal Trailer and 40' Dry Goods Container.

Packaging

The packaging consists of a cardboard outer shipping carton which encloses a very high quality drawer-style tray within a picture sleeve.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

Included with the model are three different exhaust pipe extensions which can be added to the Lonestar tractor.

The box has some details of the real truck.  A mini brochure for the Transport Series is included.

Detail

The Lonestar has the engine, gearbox and transmission detailed in plastic, but it looks good.  The chromed tanks and boxes have black highlights, and there are soft mud flaps.   The plastic wheels are detailed and there are different tyres on the various axle types.

The front grille looks particularly good and there is a tiny badge at the top.  The curved bodywork is pleasing and the lights and front bumper look nice. There is no number plate as this is a generic model.

Around the cab the chrome work is very good and the mirrors are plastic. The steps are textured.  The exhaust stacks are very detailed. Inside the cab the console has detail with the instruments visible.

The rear of the cab has detail within the casting but there are no coiled lines.  The mud flaps have graphics applied.

The trailer is mainly metal with a good structure, and the axles are nicely detailed.  The landing legs are plastic. The wheels look good.

Red and white highlighting is applied around the trailer edges.  The rear lights are painted.

The trailer has fixing points for a 40' container, but the casting does not provide the same for both ends of 20' containers.

The container is an all plastic part, and is therefore lightweight.  It looks good and has small graphics applied to add to the realism.  The rear door bolts are highlighted.

Features

The tractor steering has a limited range of movement, and the model rolls well.

The hood tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in a tilted position.  The engine underneath is detailed.

The cab doors open to a reasonable angle.

The landing legs on the trailer can be folded down.

The trailer kingpin can be fitted into 4 different positions.

The container has opening doors and they open to an excellent angle.

Quality

This model is nice quality with plastic is used for the container and on the tractor chassis.

The paintwork and graphics are to a high standard.

Price

It is good value.

Overall

This is an attractive looking model and the International Lonestar tractor is modelled well.  It is another well presented Diecast Masters model.
