This truck is a Kenworth T380 Auto Crane Titan 85 Body / HC-14 Crane with Miller Enpak.

It is in Caterpillar Service decoration.

Packaging

The packaging consists of a cardboard outer shipping carton which encloses a high quality drawer-style tray within a picture sleeve.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

Included with the model  is a key to operate the winch and a Diecast Masters leaflet.  The box has some details of the real truck.

Detail

The chassis has the engine, gearbox and transmission detailed in plastic.  There are chromed tanks and boxes.  The plastic wheels are detailed and the tyres are the same on both axles.

The Kenworth front grille is really good with a fine textured mesh and it has a logo at the top.  The lights and front bumper look nice also, although there is no number plate as this is a generic truck.

The cab has lights on the roof and detailed door handles. The steps are textured.  there is no 'glass' in the cab doors and the grab rails are plastic. The exhaust stack is very detailed.   Inside the cab the seats have the Kenworth logo printed on and the instrument cluster is detailed.  The Caterpillar graphics are sharp.

The body has panel doors indicated within the casting together with handles.  The Enpak unit is plastic with grilles indicated by graphics.

At the rear the outriggers are soft plastic with highly detailed warning graphics..

The crane has three boom sections with the middle section being plastic.  The profile is very good.  Tiny graphics add to the realism. The small hook represents a two fall block but is reeved as a single line.

Features

The steering has a limited range of movement, and the model rolls well.

The hood tilts forward  and can pose in a tilted position.  The engine underneath is detailed.

The outriggers can be extended and lowered, but they are not load bearing.

The crane boom can be raised and rotated.

The boom can be telescoped.

The winch can be operated using the supplied key and relies on friction as a brake.

Quality

This model is well made with plastic used appropriately.

The paintwork and graphics are to a high standard.

Price

It is reasonable value.

Overall

This is an interesting model and it complements a collection of Caterpillar models, and looks good in a mini diorama.

Footnotes
