This is a model of a  Kenworth T880 + East Genesis End Dump Trailer in a surf blue / chrome colour scheme.

Packaging

The model comes in a First Gear-branded windowed box with the model contained between plastic formers.

The review model had no missing parts.  However, the trailer had some shipping damage with loose parts in the box.  These were easily re-fixed with super glue.

Detail

The Kenworth chassis has the engine, gearbox and transmission detailed in plastic and there are chromed tanks and boxes although the steps are not textured.   The wheels are detailed and there are different tyres on the front and rear axles.

The front grille is very good and there is a tiny Kenworth badge at the top.  The lights and front bumper are fine and there is a towing hitch too, although there is no number plate as this is a generic model.

The cab has modelled door handles and there are no windows in the doors. The mirrors are plastic.  The exhaust stack is detailed and there is an array of lights on the roof.  The blue metallic paint finish is very good.

Behind the cab is a plastic headache rack with coiled lines and coloured hoses.  At the rear the large mud flaps are stiff plastic.

The trailer is nearly all metal.  The chassis has detailed landing legs and a soft hose runs to the rear axles.  The wheels are detailed.

The front of the trailer looks very good with a hose and the access hatch detailed, and there are sharp tiny graphics.  The finish of the dump body is very shiny, and there are red and white stripes down the sides and more detailed graphics.

The lift ram for the dump body is multi stage with shiny rams.

At the back The tailgate has the grain hatch modelled in detail.

Features

The Kenworth's steering is notched with a very good range of movement.  One of the rear axles on the review model was slightly bent meaning that it wobbled when rolling.

The hood tilts forward to about 45° and can pose in a tilted position.  The engine underneath is detailed.

The landing legs on the trailer can be lowered by unscrewing and the screw thread is revealed.

At the back the grain hatch can be opened and this is an excellent feature.  The tailgate opens about 90 degrees..

The dump body can be raised but the maximum angle is shallow and less than the real trailer would need to tip its load.  At the maximum angle the stiff rear mud flap is grounded and affects the rolling of the trailer.

Quality

It is a good quality model.

The paint is very good and the graphics are sharp.

Price

It is reasonable value.

Overall

This is a an interesting model of a Kenworth and large dump trailer. The tipping angle of the trailer is a little disappointing, but the opening grain hatch is excellent.
