This review is of a model of a Mack
Titan Tri-axle.
It is in the colours of Nuss Truck & Equipment.
Packaging
It comes in an outer shipping carton which
encloses a Mack branded box. The model is held within a
pair of factory sealed trays.
There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.
Included is a plastic
pointer and a bag containing spare mirrors is a
thoughtful touch. Another accessory bag is also part of
the package.
There is no information about the real truck but a
simple instruction sheet describes the lift axle
functionality of the model.
Detail
The chassis is very detailed including the drive train, and hoses run to the
rear axles. The tyres have a good tread pattern
but there is no branding in the side walls. The wheels
are very detailed and look smart.
On top of the hood is a gold bulldog mascot, and
the Nuss livery is very attractive. A choice of towing
hitches can be fitted and a tiny Mack badge clips into
the chrome bumper. The engine is impressive
being made up of a number of
different parts.
The cab roof has air horns and
other lights. There is a very thin aerial and chrome
mirrors. The interior is highly detailed,
including a Mack logo on the floor. Outside the
cab are textured steps and the exhaust stacks have
decent looking holes. The various tanks are
detailed and some filler caps are highlighted.
Behind the cab there is a large chrome tower with
storage boxes. There are lines for connection to a trailer and excellent non-slip
walking surfaces. At the rear there are lights and
bespoke mudflaps. Various towing hitches can be fitted.
A metal towing bar is also included as an accessory
along with an oversize load sign and fabric flags.
A nice inclusion is a metal display board with detail
about the real truck and it is representative of the
type of board that might be seen at a truck show.
Features
The front wheels steer, with the steering achieving a
very good range of movement.
There is working sprung suspension on all axles.
The lift axle can be raised out of service.
The hood opens to reveal the detailed engine.
The cab doors
can be opened to a 45 degree angle.
The fifth wheel has a spring loaded lever to secure a
trailer in position. It can also be adjusted
longitudinally.
Different towing hitches can be fitted front and rear,
and an oversize load sign and flags can be added.
Quality
This is high quality model, with a high
metal content.
The paint work and artwork is top notch.
Price
It is
a premium priced model of very high quality.
Overall
This is another excellent Mack Titan model with a very
attractive colour scheme, and it is impressive that it
includes custonised parts to accurately represent the
real truck. It pairs well with a Heavy Haul Replicas
Rogers Beam Trailer.
Footnotes
This model appeared in January 2025. It was in an
initial run of 225 models.
