The
Develon DX 380 LC Crawler Excavator has an operating
weight of 42 tonnes.
This model is sold through the IMC webshop
but is not manufactured by IMC Models. It appears to be
an updated version of a Doosan-branded model produced by
Sunraise, and is probably sourced
by Develon directly from them.
Packaging
The model comes in a
Develon-branded box It is held within
two plastic formers.
The review model had no missing parts or defects.
The
box has some technical information about the real
machine.
Detail
The undercarriage is simple underneath
with a plastic base plate. The
metal tracks have detailed pads. They are mounted
on frames which have small graphics applied to add
detail. They have step irons and the rollers are
non-functional.
The cab is detailed with a plastic mirror and
grab rail. There is a light bar on the roof.
Inside, the Develon name appears on the seat back.
Detailed graphics surround the body,
with the grilles formed of black painted indents. The
counterweight has lifting eyes modelled but without
holes.
Textured surfaces lead up on the the body roof, and the
handrails are soft plastic.
The hydraulics detailing on the boom and stick is very
good with pipes and
hoses, including metal pipes to the twin boom rams.
However, a hydraulic supply for tools is not modelled
The boom and stick have some lights and small graphics.
The bucket is a
detailed metal part.
Features
The
tracks roll easily and they are spring loaded in the
usual way.
The body rotates well, making a slight clicking noise as
it does so.
The cab door opens.
The range of movement on the boom, stick and
bucket is very good. The rams are very stiff.
Quality
This is a decent quality model with a high metal
content.
The paint finish is
generally very good, and the graphics are sharp.
Price
It is reasonable value.
Overall
This is a reasonable model of an excavator in
the 40 ton class range. It looks good with some
nice detailing and the functionality works well for the
most part.
