This is a model set of Scania tractors in the colours of the Dutch company Buurman.

The two models are a vintage Scania 143 M streamline and a Scania S middle roof.

Packaging

The set comes in a high quality box enclosed in a Buurman branded sleeve.  Inside the box the models are held in high quality foam.

The review set had no missing parts or defects.

Two sets of driver figures and alternate fifth wheels designed for fatter king pins are included.

Detail

The Scania 143 has a detailed metal chassis. The transmission components are modelled and the tyres are different on the steering and driven axles. The wheels are very detailed and the hubs are highlighted in metallic blue.

The cab roof has a basket with a Heineken crate and there are aerials together with a headboard. The Scania 143 grille is impressive and highly detailed.  There is a realistic number plate, and the Scania logo is printed behind the cab doors.  The door handles are tiny.  The detail inside the cab is very good,

Behind the cab there are ladders leading up to the roof. There are coiled lines and diamond plated surfaces are also modelled.

At the back there is a towing hitch and number plate and the rear mud flap has writing.

The Scania S has a similar level of detailing which is appropriate to the modern design.  A helmeted driver figure can be fitted inside the cab.

Features

Both tractors have steering which is slightly better on the S version.

The fifth wheels on both models can be swapped for versions accommodating a fatter king pin.

The Scania S has opening doors.  These work well, and open to a reasonable angle.  Either driver can be inserted in the cab, or not used.

Quality

Both models are high quality.  There is a difference in that the 143 has a resin cab mounted on a diecast chassis, whilst the S has a diecast cab.

The paint finish and graphics are high quality.

Price

It is a reasonably priced set..

Overall

These two Scania models look great and it is interesting as a comparison between the resin and diecast manufacturing methods.  Visually, it is hard to tell the difference.
