Comment on this model.

The Scheuerle InterCombi with Rotor Blade Adaptor is a specialised transporter designed for circumstances when normal road haulage cannot get a turbine blade to a site.

The model includes a wind turbine blade, or wing.

The model comes in a high quality box with Tii branding.  The module parts are held within individual expanded polystyrene trays, with the blade in foam rubber.

The review model had no missing parts or defects.

There is a small booklet which describes the assembly of the model, but there is no information about the real machine.  For the review model, the instruction manual contained an error on Page 6, with the 6-axle module being connected to the adaptor with the wrong end.  As a result the photos and video show the 6-axle module wrongly configured.

A 6-line and 2-line modules are included, and they are both detailed to the same level.  A separate power pack module and numerous other parts make up the set.

The rubber tyres have a realistic tread pattern and they are mounted on metal hubs which are different on the driven and non-driven axles.  Each pair of wheels is mounted on a metal support with a functioning hydraulic cylinder.

The structure underneath is strong and robust.

The edges of the modules are very detailed with tiny graphics on the sides and ends.  There are finely detailed tie-down points

Plastic connectors enable the modules to be linked at the ends, with the pinning mechanism of the real modules also utilised.  The pins are mounted in a holder like the real module.

Nicely textured plates fit into the module surface.

The power pack is very detailed.  It is mainly metal.  There are very good etched grilles and the end has a nice exhaust pipe.  End plates include light arrays.  The top surface has anti-slip surfaces and there are nicely detailed shackle points.

The rotor adaptor is a highly engineered part.  The structure is metal, with the generator and hand rail being plastic with an excellent colour match.  Small graphics add detail.  The large ram has no visible hydraulic hoses.

The counterweights are nicely cast metal plates with some graphics and they are secured in position with silver pins.

The turbine blade is a precision plastic part with a metal connector for the adaptor.   The finish on the blade is excellent as are the graphics.

The modules have linked steering which is proportional on the 6-axle and parallel on the 2-axle.  The range of movement is good.

Each wheel set has sprung suspension with decent movement.  However, the extension cannot be set.

Both modules come with connectors to enable them to be connected in series.

The steering bars on the modules are screwed potentially allowing different steering configurations to be set.

The power pack can be fitted to the ends of either module, although it looks best on the module which has driven axles.

The rotor adaptor can be pinned at three different angles and the blade can be rotated a little each way.

The moving counterweight slides along its track.

These modules and adaptor parts are high quality with a very high metal content.

The paint finish is excellent and the graphics are sharp.

The set is reasonable value.

This is an excellent model of a specialist application of self-propelled modular transporters.  It looks very impressive and the features work well.

The set was announced at Bauma 2016.
