The
Hydrema 912GS is a compact dump truck with a carrying
capacity of 10 tonnes.
Packaging
The model comes in a
Hydrema-branded box It is held within
two plastic formers.
The review model had no missing parts or defects.
The
box has a graphic which describes features of the real
machine which are common to the model.
Detail
The chassis has detailed axles and drive shafts run to
them. Hydraulic rams to control the steering and
the oscillation are modelled. The wheels are
detailed and the tyres are a chunky
rough terrain design.
The cab is detailed and and the seat has
Hydrema printed on the seat back. There are small
grab handles and a highlighted filler cap, and the
exhaust has a mesh grille and the air cleaner is nice
too. The exhaust does not have a hole though.
Tiny graphics along the roofline of the cab are sharp. At the
back the rear window has a fine mesh grille.
There are no hydraulic hoses crossing the pivot point
but tiny graphics add detail.
The dump body is a nice metal casting with sharp
graphics on the sides. The hydraulic rams that
control the dumping action have a good colour match.
At the back the lights are represented well.
Features
The
wheels roll easily and there is suspension on the
front axle which works very well.
Steering across the pivot point has a nice stiffness,
and a reasonable angle can be obtained. A small
amount of oscillation across the pivot point can also be
achieved.
The tipping angle of the body is excellent and the rams
have a nice stiffness. The dump body also rotates
on a turntable allowing tipping on either side.
Quality
This is a nice quality model which is robust also. The metal content is high.
The paint finish is very good, and the graphics are very
sharp.
Price
It is reasonable value.
Overall
This is an updated version of the previous
912FS version. The changes seem minimal with some
updated and additional graphics and revised packaging.
The functionality and the detailing is to a high
standard.
