Footnotes

Box with window.
Reasonable detail at the rear but no lights.
Overall look of the model is good.
Loading a MAN Tipper.
The L 564 Wheel Loader had an operating weight of around 22 tonnes and a bucket capacity of 4m³.

Packaging

The box is in a Joal style with a window and the model is held inside a polystyrene tray.  The sleeve contains some details about the real machine.

The review model had no defects or missing parts.

Detail

There is no detailing underneath the model however the tyres are good and they are mounted on metal hubs which have wheel nuts detailed.

Most of the body and cab is metal with some details contained within the castings.  The inside of the cab has a seat and controls.  Outside there are plastic handrails which are a little flimsy.  At the rear the radiator cover is plastic and there are no lights detailed.

The front and the loader mechanism are metal with the exception of the cylinder jackets which are off colour.  The bucket is a nice casting.

Features

The rear axle has a good degree of float.

The articulation of the body replicates the steering of the original although the range of movement is only about 30° off centre.

The shovel raises to a very good height and tips but the cylinders are loose so the model is not good at retaining a pose.

Quality

The majority of the model is metal and the paintwork is fine.

Price

It is a very inexpensive model and very good value.

Overall

Although the details on this rather older Joal model fall short compared to contemporary models it is still quite nice considering its low price.

Footnotes

The model was declared to be a 2007 release by Joal.
