Comment on this model.

The New Holland L218 has an operating weight of 2.7 tonnes.  It can be configured with many different work tools.

Packaging

The box is essentially Motorart branded with New Holland labels on the ends.  Inside a pair of clear plastic formers hold the model.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

There is no information about the real machine included.

Detail

Detailing underneath is simple.  The tyres have a good tread pattern and are mounted on detailed wheels.

The body is metal with good detailing and the black grille at the rear is formed well and the rear lights have good quality plastic lenses.

The cab has very good mesh sides and the cover has small metal grab handles but no rooflight.  Inside the cab the detail includes the joystick controls.

The metal boom is modelled well with sharp graphics and the rivets are discrete although there are no hoses for the hydraulics.  The metal bucket is a simple straight-edged casting.

Features

The L218 well but cannot skid properly as the wheels are fixed to common axles.

The boom mechanism articulates well and it raises to a reasonable height although perhaps not as high as the real machine.  With that said the bucket movement and tipping angle is very good.

Quality

It is good quality with a high metal content.

The paint is good and the graphics are very good.

Price

The model is small and the price level is moderate.

Overall

This is a nice little model with a feeling of good quality and it looks good too.  The real machine is very flexible with a wide range of attachments and some different tools would have added to the model.

Footnotes

The model was first available in September 2013.
