Comment on this model.

The Yanmar SV26 is a sub 3 tonne machine designed for urban renewal and landscaping.

Packaging

The packaging is a small windowed Yanmar-branded box and the model is contained between a pair of clear plastic formers.

There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.

There is no information about the real machine or model.

Detail

There is little detail underneath other than the basic structural frame.  The track frames are simple with no working rollers and the rubber tracks have a good tread pattern.

At the front is a simple dozing blade.

The cab is really nice with very good detailing that the larger 1:32 scale allows, with the exception being that there are no wipers on the windscreen.  The controls are modelled realistically and there is a textured rubber mat floor.  There are graphics on the console under the seat.  On the outside there are thin grab rails and the windows have the seals represented.  The mirrors are finely crafted too.

The body is a very nice casting with the Yanmar name highlighted in relief at the rear, and the grilles are modelled too.  Small warning graphics add detail.

The boom and stick have very convincing hydraulics made up of hoses and thin metal pipes running to the tool attachment point, with the main rams modelled just with simple jackets. The connection rivets are visible but they reflect the silver connectors on the real machine.

The simple metal bucket is fine.

Features

The tracks are very stiff but can be moved.

The dozing blade can be lowered and raised.

Rotation of the body is fine.

The boom rotates to the right and left by about 45º and the movement of boom, stick and bucket is good.

Quality

It has a nice quality feel with a high metal content.

The paint is very good with high quality graphics.

Price

It is good value.

Overall

Motorart has produced a very nice quality model for Yanmar and full use has been made of the larger scale to provide good detailing.  It is highly recommended.

Footnotes

The model was generally available from August 2014.
