Comment on this model.
The Caterpillar EP16(C)PNT Lift Truck is an electric
fork lift which is three-wheeled for maximum
maneuverability. It weighs 3 tonnes and has a
maximum capacity of 1.6 tonnes. The maximum height
of lift is around 3.3m.
Packaging
The model comes in a Caterpillar branded box and it is
fixed to the side with a
tightly wound tie.
The review model had no defects or missing
parts, and there is no assembly to perform.
The box has no information about the real machine,
but some of the features of the model are described.
Detail
The underside is simple and the tyres have a feint tread
pattern consistent with industrial use.
The body is metal with very sharp graphics. The
guard on top is metal with plastic silvered lights.
The operator's area has a non-slip floor and the
controls are replicated well and the steering wheel
column appears to be scaled too high although on the
real machine it is tiltable. The seat is moulded
well.
The three-stage mast has a metal lower section with the
other two parts in plastic. The carriage and forks
are metal.
Features
The wheels roll well and the rear wheel has notched steering
and turns over 180º.
The mast tilts.
The mast telescopes and the cylinders are stiff enough
to hold any pose.
There is some sideways movement of the forks on the
carriage.
Quality
It is a robust model which is largely metal.
The paint finish is very good with sharp graphics.
Price
It is reasonably priced for the size.
Overall
Norscot has produced a good lift truck model with decent
detailing and good functionality.
Footnotes
The model was released in 2013.
