The Liebherr A 910 Compact is a smaller sized wheeled excavator.

It has an operating weight in the 12 tonne range.

Packaging

The model comes in a Liebherr branded box.  Inside the model is wrapped in soft paper and rests in a polystyrene tray.

There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.

It is fully assembled, and a grab attachment is also included.  There is no information about the model or the real machine.

Detail

The underside of the carrier has the transmission detailed in plastic, and the the axles are nicely detailed also.  There is an unusual split dozing blade at one end.

The cab has a metal grab rail and a thin windscreen wiper.  The windows have detailed frames and seals giving it a detailed and realistic appearance which is enhanced by the highlighted handle and door hinge.

The curved body has the Liebherr name embossed at the back, and painted lights and small graphics add to the appearance.  Grilles on the side are formed by graphics and side and rear video cameras are modelled.  The mirror assembly is metal.

Up on top the engine cover is very detailed and there is an etched grille, with other parts highlighted.  At the boom foot there are many soft rubber hydraulic hoses which give a complex look.

The hydraulics on the boom are complex with silver plastic pipes indicated on the second stage boom, and there are more soft hoses.  The connection pins are very discrete.

The bucket is a good casting with nice teeth and the quick hitch facility is modelled effectively.  The grab is an excellent metal part.

Features

The wheels roll well without being fully free spinning. The steering axle performs well and it also oscillates.

The model rotates well although it is a little on the stiff side.

The movement of the two-part boom and stick is very good with a pleasant stiffness in the cylinders.  Digging at depth is also fine.  The boom also rotates on its pivot point to give offset digging.

The bucket is removable and can also be reversed.

The grab rotates and also swings on the connection although it is stiff so has to be moved by hand.  The grab opens and closes very well.

Quality

This is a high quality model with a very good finish.

The metal content is high and the paint and graphics are excellent.

Price

The model is good value.

Overall

This is a model certainly has the feel of a high quality model and it looks very convincing.
