The Liebherr L 504 is Liebherr's smallest wheel loader with an
operating weight of under 5 tonnes.
Packaging
The model comes in a Liebherr branded box with the
model held in a pair of expanded polystyrene trays.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.
There is no assembly to do and there is no information
about the real machine. A spare pin is included.
Detail
The underside detail is good including a plastic drive shaft and
detailed axles. The wheels have very good
hubs with wheel nuts detailed and nice treaded tyres.
At the rear the
grilles are formed of graphics and there are painted red
lights. The exhaust pipe is
plastic and a nice touch is that towing points have
formed holes.
There are no hydraulic hoses on the model at the pivot
point or elsewhere.
The front wheel arches look realistic compared to the
real machine.
The cab has windscreen wipers front and rear and the
mirror supports are true to the original. The cab
doors have formed handles in the moulding.
The loader arms
are connected with thin pins and there are nice light
stalks.
The bucket is nice with very good teeth and wear
plates.
Features
The axles are rigid. The wheels are fixed to a common axle so they
rotate as pairs.
The articulation to allow steering works well
with a realistic angle being possible.
The loader arms can lift the bucket to above
the cab height although a little short compared to the
real machine. A very good tipping angle can be
obtained. A good carry angle can be achieved as well as
a good cut angle. The cylinders are stiff enough to hold any pose set.
One pin is removable from the bucket connection but the
other appears to be a fixed connection.
Quality
This is a high quality small model.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
It is moderate value.
Overall
This is
a nice model of Liebherr's smallest wheel loader.
Although the bucket is partly pinned it would have been
nice if it was easily removable and a set of forks
provided as an option.
Footnotes
This model was introduced for the Bauma Exhibition
in 2022.
