This model is a Schwing Stetter SLM 4600 Self-Loading Mixer.

It is a machine which is commonly used in India, and has a weight of around 9 tonnes when loaded.

Packaging

The model comes in a Schwing Stetter branded windowed box.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

There is no information about the real machine or the model.

Detail

Underneath, the chassis is detailed with the axles and drive shaft linking the axles modelled.  An exhaust system is also modelled.  The tyres have a decent tread pattern and are mounted on wheels with the wheel nuts detailed.

The cab has wipers front and rear, and an array of plastic mirrors.  The window seals, door handle and locks are highlighted.

Inside the cab, there is a seat and high steering wheel.

The grille at the front has perforations and the lights and graphics are sharp.  There are detailed components behind the cab including the air intake system.

The mixer drum is a metal part which is very well decorated.  The mechanism for tilting the drum and the self-loader are modelled in metal with the hydraulic ram jackets having plastic jackets.  The lifting rams for the bucket have black highlighting to indicate hoses.  The connection rivets are discrete.

There is a tiny chute at the back, and non-removable extension chutes are modelled.

Features

The model rolls smoothly and each axle has steering which can be posed to a very good angle.

The mixer drum spins very smoothly.

The mixer assembly can be tilted, and it also rotates on the carrier deck.

The self-loading mechanism works well.  The bucket angle tilts, and a nice feature is that the door on the bucket can be opened to discharge the loaded materials.

The chute moves from side to side.

Quality

This is a smaller model but it has a high metal content.  It is well made.

The paint and graphics are very good.

Price

It is reasonably priced.

Overall

This is an unusual machine and NZG has modelled it very well with a high level of functionality.
