This model is a Scania 730 S 4x2 coupled with a Car
Transporter.
It is in the scale of 1:64.
.Markings on the model indicate it is manufactured by
Keng Fai.
Packaging
The model comes in an NZG branded outer box, and
the model is contained within expanded polystyrene
trays.
The review model had no
missing parts or defects.
There is no information about the real truck or trailer.
An instruction sheet is included that describes the main
features.
Detail
The Scania has a very detailed chassis, with the engine block
and gearbox visible, and the exhaust system and tanks
modelled. Wheel chocks and mud flaps are at
the rear.
The wheels look very good with different tyres
front and rear.
The
cab roof has a see-through
roof light, air horns and aerials. The
grille at the front is finely reproduced, the lights are
high quality. The bull bar is very nicely
modelled. The door handles and mirrors are detailed.
Inside the cab the detail is very good.
Behind the cab the
Scania name is embossed in the casting.
There are various high quality walkway surfaces.
The rear lights have plastic lenses and there are wheel
chocks. The wheel arches are metal, and Scania is printed on the mud flaps.
Under the cab is a very detailed engine.
The car
transporter has a very high metal content. Detail
underneath includes landing legs and tanks and boxes,
with the axles modelled simply. The sides and roof
have an excellent paint finish, and hinges on the roof
are discretely modelled.
Inside, the decking is high quality metal with textured
surfaces. Hydraulic rams for the loading ramp are
modelled, but, unusually, there are no lights at the
back of the trailer.
Features
The
Scania rolls in a straight line but slightly loose
steering hinders a smooth path. The steering
achieves a moderate angle.
The cab tilts to a good angle and it reveals the
detailed engine.
The bull bar at the front can be fully angled down.
It can also be removed and replaced with a trim.
The
transporter is functional with the landing legs rotating
to support the trailer if not attached to a tractor.
The loading ramp folds down and can be extended.
It also can be raised and lowered to be level with the
ground or the inside of the trailer.
The trailer sides can be opened in gull-wing fashion and
can be posed opened.
The trailer has
an adjustable top deck deck section. Pins are
inserted into supports to set the level desired.
Tiny plastic wheel chocks are provided which can be set
in numerous positions on the top or bottom load decks.
Quality
This is a a high quality model with a
very high metal content.
The paintwork and graphics are excellent.
Price
It is
good value for what is offered in this small scale.
Overall
Although 1:64 is a relatively unusual scale in Europe,
this model shows what can be achieved. It is high
quality, detailed and functional.
