This model is a Meiller tipper mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Arocs
8x4 chassis. It is in a black colour scheme.
Packaging
The model comes in an NZG branded box with a window.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review
model.
There is no information about the real
truck,
and as the model is complete out of the box, there are
no instructions required.
Detail
This is a heavy model with a relatively low plastic
content. Underneath, the chassis is fully detailed in
metal with only the steering linkage being functionally modelled. The tyres
have a decent tread pattern and it is different on the
front and rear axles.
The cab has horns,
beacon lights and aerials on the roof, and the roof
light is see-through. The doors have mirror cams
fitted and there are screens inside the cab to match.
The distinctive Arocs grille is modelled with a
realistic appearance. There is a dummy NZG number plate front and
rear and there are some tiny Mercedes-Benz graphics
which are sharp.
Inside the cab, the seats have arm rests
and there is the Mercedes-Benz logo on the steering wheel.
Behind the cab the exhaust and intakes are modelled in
plastic. The wheel
arches are metal throughout and the light bar at the
rear has nice plastic lenses, and there is a towing
hitch.
The Meiller tipper body is metal with a single stage hydraulic
ram. The mechanisms for the opening sides are modelled
but are not functional.
Features
The truck rolls well and the steering can be
posed to a good angle.
The tipper body raises to a
realistic angle.
The tailgate opens and is free-swinging.
Quality
It is well made model with a high metal content.
The paint
and graphics are very good.
Price
It is reasonable value.
Overall
This is updated Arocs truck features the latest
door cameras instead of mirrors.
It is a robust model with a high quality feel. and looks
great in the black colour scheme.
