Good in a mini diorama.

Hamm is part of the Wirtgen Group of companies.

The Hamm HD+ 120i V-VIO Tandem Roller is a rear-wheel-steered tandem roller with vibratory and oscillating drums.   It has an operating weight of almost 13 tonnes.

Packaging

It comes in a small Hamm branded box in which the model is held within two expanded polystyrene trays, and wrapped in soft paper.

There is no information about the real machine.  A spare set of mirrors is included.

There is no assembly to do.

Detail

Underneath, the detail is fairly simple, and surprisingly there is no NZG logo.  The roller drums are metal and have nice smooth surfaces.  Each has two scrapers, and with nicely highlighted bolt heads detailed on the support frames.

The body casting has textured steps leading to the cab.

The cab is excellent as inside the driver's console has tiny legible graphics.  Outside, the cab has a delicate metal frame and a two-tone roof with beacon light.  There are thin windscreen wipers front and rear.

The nose at each end is a nice casting with filler cabs modelled for the water tanks.  The front mirrors are plastic and the Wirtgen and Hamm graphics are sharp.

Features

The drums roll well and the rear drum steers and achieves a good angle.  The rear drum can also be offset to one side.

The plastic cab doors open widely, and inside the cab the operator's seat can be rotated and moved side to side.

Quality

This is a nice quality model with a high metal content.

The paintwork and graphics are very good.

Price

It is moderate value.

Overall

This model is NZG quality with very plastic.  It has very nice detailing and functionality and would pose well in a roadworks diorama.

Footnotes

The model first appeared at the end of 2024.
