The Yanmar Y8e Wheel Loader is a smaller sized machine electric machine with an operating weight in the 4 tonne range.

Packaging

The model comes in a Yanmar branded box.  Inside the model is wrapped in soft paper and rests in a pair of trays.

There were no missing parts or defects on the review model.

It is fully assembled.  There is no information about the model or the real machine.

Detail

The underside of the carrier has the transmission detailed in plastic, and the the axles are detailed also.  The pivot point has simple hydraulic ram but there are no hoses crossing.

The cab has metal grab rails, and thin windscreen wipers.  The windows have detailed frames and seals giving it a detailed and realistic appearance. The interior is detailed also.

The curved body has the Yanmar name at the back, and painted lights and small graphics add to the appearance.  Grilles on the side are formed by painted indentations. Door mirrors and light stalks are modelled in plastic.

The hydraulics on the parallelogram loader mechanism include soft hoses.  The connection pins are very discrete and some utilise tiny screws.

The bucket is a good casting with nice teeth.

Features

The wheels spin freely. Steering across the pivot point achieves a moderate angle, but there is no oscillation of the front axle.

The loader mechanism allows very good cut and carry positions.  It achieves a moderate height but if pushed too far the piston pops out of the jacket.  The tipping angle is not as good as the real machine.

The bucket is secured by tiny screws and is removable.

Quality

This is a very nice quality model with a high metal content.

The paint and graphics are excellent.

Price

The model is moderate value.

Overall

This is a nice small model which looks good.  It poses well with other suitable models.
