Packaging

The model comes in an Atlas branded box and is held between a pair of trays.

There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.

The model is fully assembled out of the box and there is a little information about the real machine on the box.

Detail

The model has a simple chassis with no drive train, but the tyres have a good tread pattern and they are mounted on detailed wheels.  At one end of the chassis is is a simple metal blade.

The cab has good detail and inside there is a steering wheel, seat and control levers.  On the outside there are lights, and there is a plastic mirror and grab rail.  A grille on the side of the cab is formed by graphics.

The body is very good, with a painted indented grille on the cab side, and the rear is nicely decorated and includes a video camera.  Many small graphics add detail.  There are thin metal handrails and steps lead to textured surfaces on top of the body and there is a nice etched grille.

Hydraulic lines run from the engine area to the boom and silver pipes run up the boom. Delicate rubber hydraulic hoses run to all rams.  Friction pins are used for the boom and stick connections and they create a realistic look.  They are small graphics which give a realistic look.

The metal bucket is simple with sharp teeth.

Features

There is a steering axle and the wheels can be steered to a good angle.

The body turns smoothly on the undercarriage and the blade can be raised and lowered easily.

The movement of the boom sections and bucket is generally very good although the first stage boom cannot lower fully restricting digging at depth a little.

Quality

It is high quality with a high metal content.

The paintwork and graphics are very good.

Price

The model is moderately priced.

Overall

This is a typical high quality and well made model by NZG.  As always a detachable bucket would have been a nice touch.
