Packaging

The model comes in a Wirtgen branded box and is enclosed between trays.  Soft paper protects it.

The review model had no defects or missing parts.

The model comes complete with no assembly required and there are no instructions.  There is no information about the real machine.

Detail

The wheels are metal with heavy chunky tyres having a deep tread.  Hoses run to the rear wheels.  Underneath the model the rotor is large with finely crafted metal picks which are tipped with red paint.

The large cab has thin grab rails and mirror/camera supports, painted lights and wipers on the windows.  Inside, the cab detail is very good.  Outside the cab the access platforms are anti-slip and there are more high metal quality handrails.

The engine bay has some really nice mesh grilles on the top and under the cover the engine is detailed in plastic parts.  There are some very fine chrome mesh grilles on the side.  An exhaust pipe is also modelled.

At the rear the mixing tank is a nice metal casting with good detailing.  There is a Wirtgen logo,  sharp Wirtgen graphics and a video camera.  Hydraulic hoses run to the wheel supports.

Features

Both axles have linked steering and a very good angle can be achieved.

The rotor rotates and there is an adjustable flap on the front and rear edges.  The whole assembly can also be raised and lowered.

The cab can slide sideways and the seat and controls can be rotated.

The engine cover opens.

Quality

Very little plastic is used and the model has a high quality feel.

The paint and graphics are very good.

Price

It is reasonable value.

Overall

This is a solid model of the latest 240 series Wirtgen machine.  It has excellent functionality and also makes a good transport load.
