| Comment on this model.
Atlas Weyhausen is an independent small German manufacturer of wheel loaders and compaction rollers. In 2013 it trades under the name of Atlas Weycor.
The AR 95 is a small wheel loader weighing around 8 tonnes.
This version of the model is in the colours of Rathkamp, a small German company based in Hatten near Bremen.
Packaging
The model comes in an Atlas Weyhausen branded box and is held between a pair of trays.
The review model had no defects or missing parts.
There is no information provided about the real machine or model, and the model is complete with no assembly required.
Detail
There is little detail underneath but the tyres are convincing and the metal wheels are nice. The pivot point is a simple pinned connection and there are no hydraulic cylinders for the steering modelled.
At the back the engine compartment has a good ribbed grille on top, and the lights are well detailed with paint and graphics.
The cab interior detail is reasonable and the grab rails, wipers and mirrors add detail externally.
The loader mechanism is modelled to a high standard with black wires representing hydraulic hoses and all connections are made with very discreet friction rivets.
The bucket is metal with good small teeth.
Features
The wheels share common axles and roll well.
Steering across the pivot point is loose because there are no cylinders but the angle of movement is reasonable.
The loader mechanism works well with the bucket lifting to a realistic height and it tips well too. However if the arm is lifted too high the pistons can pop out of the cylinder jackets.
Quality
The model has a high metal content.
The paint and graphics are good.
Price
It is moderate value.
Overall
This is pleasant small model which looks interesting in the Rathkamp livery.
Footnotes
It was first released in 2007 as model #640. This version of the model appeared as a Winter 2013 release in a run of 300 models.
