The
Vögele
Super 800 Small Paver has a clearance width of only 1.2m
and can pave widths between 0.5 and 3.2m. It can lay up
to 250 tonnes of material per hour and weighs 5.9
tonnes.
This version of the model is in the colours of
Traunfellner,
an Austrian company founded in 1889.
Packaging
The model comes in
a brightly coloured box and inside it is enclosed
between polystyrene trays. The
review model had no defects or missing parts.
The model is complete with no assembly required,
and there is no information describing its many features.
It does include a reprint of a brochure about the real
machine which is a welcome addition.
Detail
This is a very small machine and so is the model.
The rubber tracks are thin but realistic and they are
mounted on nicely detailed track frames. There is a
non-functioning spreader auger on the underside.
At the front the hopper belt is represented by the
metal casting and the hopper sides are also metal.
There are functioning rollers for engaging the
wheels of a discharging tipper truck.
The body is a simple casting with the grilles in the top
represented by graphics. The operator's station has a
textured floor and a finely detailed console which is
really good. The hand rails are metal and
realistically sized.
The screed has been modelled in a simplified way due to
the size but the casting details are very good.
Each end of the screed has control box modelled by a
small piece of plastic.
Features
The tracks roll well in a straight line considering
their size.
The hopper sides can close in to force material onto the
belt, or for transport, and the rollers also fold.
The screed can be raised and lowered, and can be
extended on both sides for width.
Quality
This is another high quality model by NZG which is
nearly
all metal. The paint and graphics are fine.
Price
It is good value as it is a small but finely crafted
model.
Overall
The Super 800 is another high quality model sponsored by
a member of the Wirtgen Group. Although small, it is
detailed and functional and it looks good in
Traunfellner colours. It is highly
recommended.
Footnotes
The model first appeared in 2007 and has also been produced
in the liveries of Vögele
and Ooms. The Traunfellner
and Ooms versions was
made in limited runs of 300 models.
