This kit provides a 6m boom extension kit for the Liebherr LR 1600/2 base model. It is in Liebherr yellow.
Packaging
The parts come in a Liebherr-styled box and they are well wrapped in clear bags.
There were no defects or missing parts in the review set.
Detail
The parts are high quality and the boom sections are cast perfectly straight. They have internal bracing at one end of the section.
Four pendants are supplied. The pendants are metal and they have a connector attached at one end.
No nuts and bolts are supplied. Twelve sets would be require to incorporate the parts on the base model, and this might be an issue depending on the number of spare bolts in the base model.
Features
The kit is designed to extend the main boom and luffing jib each by a scale 6m. The inclusion of four pendant bars allows many configurations to be built, but to be realistic, some configurations would require six pendant bars.
However the sections can also be used as transport loads.
Quality
These are high quality parts and the paintwork is very good.
Price
The set is a little pricey compared to the 12m extension set.
Overall
These parts provide extra height to the base crane model although the provision of only four pendants and no spare nuts and bolts should be noted. It also doubles as a useful set for use as a heavy transport load. It is highly recommended.

This extension kit was announced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February 2015, and became available in November 2015. A 12m extension kit was also introduced as part 8433.
