Comment on this model.
Mercedes Benz introduced a new
version of the Actros truck in June 2011 and this model
is of a 4x2 FH 25 GigaSpace.
It is in the colours of
HT,
which is the Hauser Truck and Trailer Rental Company
based in Germany.
Packaging
The model comes in an NZG branded outer box with the
model contained within a Perspex display case. The
plinth has the truck name nicely printed and the
mirrored top surface adds to the look of the model.
The review model had no defects or missing parts.
There is no assembly to do, and no information about the
model or real truck is supplied.
Detail
The model is securely held to the base of the display
case with two screws. It can be removed from the
base.
The Actros tractor is detailed underneath in metal with
the steering being functionally modelled as a
compromise. The tyres are wider on the front axle
and the wheels are detailed.
The
GigaSpace cab is nicely modelled. The grille at the
front is finely reproduced and the lights are high
quality, and there is a realistic number plate too.
Overall the paint job is excellent with sharp
graphics. Air horns, wipers and
mirrors are included and the door handles are
convincing. Inside the cab the two-tone finish is good.
Behind the cab there is a coiled air line, and the
various
tanks are realistic with colour coded filler caps.
The rear lights have plastic lenses and there are wheel
chocks.
Features
The Actros
rolls well.
The steering is good with a
reasonable lock being possible.
It can be displayed inside the Perspex case or removed
by undoing a couple of screws underneath the base.
Quality
NZG has produced a high quality model that is
heavy as it is almost entirely in metal.
The paintwork and graphics are very good.
Price
The model is good value overall.
Overall
This is another very nice looking Actros model and the
display case makes it an unusual collector piece.
Footnotes
This version of the model was a Nuremberg Toy Fair 2013
release
as a limited edition of 300 models.
