| Comment on this model.
This model is a Volkswagen T5 series and it entered full production in 2003 and the version modelled here is the pick-up variant.
This model is in the colours of Strabag, a European construction company.
Packaging
It is in a NZG-branded sleeve and inside it is held within a plastic formers, rather than the perspex display case of earlier versions of the model.
There were no defects or missing parts on the review model.
There is no information about the model or the real vehicle.
Detail
The T5 is front wheel drive and the floor pan is detailed with a plastic exhaust system running to the rear of the vehicle. The rear axle suspension is modelled well but it is non-functioning. The wheels are convincing but the tyre design is the same on both axles.
At the front the VW logo is distinct and the grille and headlights are good, and there is a dummy NZG number plate. The door handles are part of the casting and they are nicely highlighted with paint. There are two large beacon lights on the roof. Inside the cab the detail includes a textured floor.
Behind the cab the support bar is plastic as is the tool box, but they look good. The pick-up load area has well detailed sides and at the rear the lights have plastic lenses.
Features
It rolls well and the steering is good achieving a realistic angle.
Quality
This is a well made model with a sparing and mainly appropriate use of plastic.
The painting is very good and the Strabag graphics are nicely applied.
Price
It is moderate value for a limited edition model.
Overall
This is a good support vehicle for posing with other models.
Footnotes
This version of the model appeared in October 2015 in a run of 200 models.
