Jungheinrich is a long-established German company which is a leader in material handling equipment and warehousing logistic solutions.
The TDG 680 is a large fork lift truck and has an operating weight of around 13 tonnes. It is an LPG-powered machine with a maximum load of 8 tonnes.
Packaging
The model comes in a Jungheinrich branded box and is enclosed between expanded polystyrene trays. It is secured to the lower tray with a screw, and the box includes a screwdriver to release the model.
The review model had no missing parts or defects.
There are no instructions for the model or information about the real machine.
Detail
Detailing underneath is simple. The tyres are very good with a deep tread pattern and they are mounted on plastic wheels.
The model is heavy and curved body shape is cast well with non-useable towing hitch at the back. The graphics are sharp.
On top of the engine the cover and the exhaust is plastic.
The large cab is very good with lightly tinted windows, windscreen wipers, and good lights. The larger scale allows some excellent interior detailing, with a non-slip floor, nice controls and a very good console and bank of switches.
The mast is metal with thin metal hydraulic rams.
The forks are metal.
Features
The model rolls well. The rear axle oscillates and the wheels achieve a reasonable steering angle.
The plastic cab door opens widely.
Inside the cab the seat assembly rotates.
The mast pitches forwards and back, and it extends to double the height. The carriage travels up and down the mast.
The forks can be positioned anywhere along the carriage.
Quality
It is a well made robust model with a high metal content and plastic used appropriately.
The paint and graphics are very good.
Price
It is reasonable value given the size and weight of metal.
Overall
This is a large model with a high quality feel. It has good functionality and the cab detailing is very good. It would have been good if a pallet had been included with the model.
